Newborn Session Guide
Welcome!
I’m so excited to photograph your newest little love. Below is everything you need to know to prep for your session, all in one easy place. Don’t worry, there’s nothing fancy you need to do. This experience is designed to be calm, relaxed, and baby-led. Let’s make it easy on all of us.
What to Expect
Newborn sessions take place at my studio and typically last 2-3 hours. We follow the baby’s lead the entire time. If they need to be fed, be changed, or rocked back to sleep, we pause and let it happen.
The space will be warm and quiet (think hot yoga vibes) to keep baby cozy and sleepy. I work slowly and with intention, giving your little one time to settle into each pose. You don’t need to do anything except show up, breathe, and let me take it from there.
What to Bring
Baby in a zip-up sleeper (nothing that goes over the head)
Pacifier (even if the baby doesn’t always take it)
A bottle if you're bottle feeding
Diapers and wipes
Any sentimental item you'd like included (blanket, stuffed animal, heirloom, etc.)
Snacks and drinks for yourself
Sibling snacks or quiet activities (if bringing siblings)
Optional: a helper or grandparent if siblings are coming too

What to Wear
Please choose soft, neutral tones: whites, creams, greys, beiges, soft muted colors, or even black. You don’t need to match each other—variety actually looks great.
Avoid:
Logos or printed text on shirts
Neon colors or anything that might clash with soft baby tones
Heavy sweaters (it will be warm!)
Most family and parent photos are cropped to the upper body, so focus on a simple, flattering top. Think light layers, short sleeves or breathable fabrics.
For Siblings (if applicable)
We always begin with family and sibling photos first so little ones can head out afterward
Please bring a snack and a quiet activity (tablet, toy, book)
Don’t worry if they’re wild, shy, or uninterested. I work quickly and playfully to make it easy
If possible, bringing a second adult to help with siblings makes the experience smoother for everyone.
After the Session…
Around 2 weeks after your session, you’ll be invited to your Reveal Party, where you’ll view your photos for the first time and choose any keepsakes or albums you'd love to create.
The Reveal Party happens in the studio, and everything is done in one simple visit. I design the album with you, walk you through print options, and make the process fun and stress-free.
